Copyright Infringement Policy

At Meritad (meritad.ng), we respect the intellectual property rights of others and expect our users to do the same. This Copyright Infringement Policy outlines how we handle claims of copyright violations related to content posted on our platform.
1. User Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for the content they post on Meritad, including:
Text
Images
Videos
Logos and other media
By submitting content, users confirm that they own the rights to it or have received permission from the rightful owner. Meritad is not liable for any copyright infringement committed by its users.
2. Reporting Copyright Infringement
If you believe that your copyrighted work has been copied or used on Meritad in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please email us at:
Include the following details in your notice:
Your full name and contact information
A description of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed
The exact URL or link to the allegedly infringing content on Meritad
A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf
Your physical or electronic signature
3. Action Upon Receiving Notice
Once we receive a valid copyright infringement notice:
We will review the report
If the claim is valid, we may remove or disable access to the infringing content
We may notify the user who posted the content and provide them with the claim details
Repeat violations may result in the suspension or permanent removal of the offending user’s account.
4. Counter Notification
If you believe that your content was removed in error, you may send us a counter-notice at support@meritad.ng containing:
Your full name and contact information
Identification of the material that was removed and its location before removal
A statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the content was removed by mistake
Your consent to the jurisdiction of your local court and agreement to accept service of legal process from the copyright claimant
Your electronic or physical signature
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the content unless the original claimant files a court action within 10 business days.
5. Repeat Infringers
Accounts found repeatedly violating copyright laws may be:
Permanently banned
Reported to legal authorities if necessary
